Established in 1863, the Southland Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 150th year as part of the Southland economy in 2013. Started by a group of like-minded business people over a century and a half ago, the need for a strong business voice in Southland is as valid now as it was then.
The main objectives of the Chamber are to help local members improve their business and to ensure our members can operate in a business friendly and progressive environment. We work collaboratively with business leaders, industry groups and organisations to collectively make Southland a great place to do business.
As a not for profit member based organisation, the Chamber is led by a board of ten directors, each recognised business leaders in Southland with extensive and complimentary track records in business.
The Southland Chamber of Commerce is part of the New Zealand Chambers of Commerce & Industry (NZCCI) network which provides nationwide reach to our members. The 29 Chambers in New Zealand support more than 22,000 members who are active in their business environment both nationally and internationally. The nationwide network is divided into four hubs: Northern, Central, Canterbury and Southern which includes the Otago, Queenstown, Wanaka and Southland Chambers of Commerce. The network is also affiliated with 22,000 Chambers internationally through the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), providing our members with access to the largest business network in the world.
The Southland Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner up with and be supported by a number of organisations. This support is valuable to our network and enables us to keep our membership subscription affordable for a great range of Southland businesses.
