Southland Young Enterprise Scheme Celebrates End of Year Awards 2014

The Southern Wide Real Estate Lion Foundation Southland Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) will celebrate the End of Year Regional Awards on Wednesday 22 October.

YES Regional Co-ordinator, Joanne O’Connor confirmed that the awards would be held at Hansen Hall, Southern Institute of Technology in Invercargill at 5.30pm. The awards evening, hosted by Southland Chamber of Commerce, celebrates the students’ achievements and announces the winner of the Southland Young Enterprise Company of the year. The winner will represent Southland and the Lakes District at the national awards and gala dinner on 10 December in Wellington.

This year 28 Young Enterprise companies have participated in the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme including companies from James Hargest College, Aparima College, Aurora College, Mt Aspiring College, Verdon College, Southland Boys High School and Southland Girls’ High School.

Brett Lucas of Southern Wide Real Estate said the Company is very pleased to be associated with the YES Scheme. “The calibre of entrants is outstanding and we are looking forward to a great night to see who comes out on top”.

Seven awards would be presented including; Company Excellence Award, Best Annual Report, Most Innovative Product Design, Southland Young Enterpriser of the Year, Southland Young Enterprise Company of the Year, Best Stand at Trade Fair and Highest Exam Mark. Terry Shubkin, Chief Excitement Officer of Young Enterprise Trust – Wellington will be the special guest for the evening and guests will hear about the YES student’s experiences.
